Settle down, you lot have over expectant solutions I would say Japan held it's position very well.
Not only did they hold a good position it shows their entry into a tight situation and come out tops. So what is the problem.
There is a gang here that sees ware fare at the slightest situation.
Australia turns back an ally. ?.

Indyvidual,

I agree with you on One Nation, which is the only party that could be said to be conservative. We badly need conservatives. Just as we need the opposite. We should be entitled to choice. And, since the demise of the Howard era, conservatives have not had a choice, except for the still nascent One Nation - far, far away from government.

The Left is spoilt for choice: Labor, Teals, Greens. What does the Right have? Zilch!

The Liberal Party hasn't been remotely conservative since the so-called moderates took over. They proved beyond a shadow of doubt that they don't want government unless they can be Labor-lite. They totally ignored what their supporters wanted and what they were supposed to stand for - what they did stand for in the past. The polls now show what that did for them!

Yet, we hear a hasbeen like Tony Abbott saying the Liberals can come back, and everyone should join up.

Nuh. The Liberals are rooted. What sort of drongo party is made up of politicians who don't believe the same things, have the same values? Worse, what other politicians display their differences publicly? None of the other parties, no matter how gross they are, do that. They stick together.

And remember Dutton's withdrawal of election promises because he wasn't leader enough to put the lefty moderates back in their box, and he listened to commentators who hate the Liberal party. What a loser!

Now they've got a middle-aged schoolgirl.

I don't know who is going to lick Australia into shape. He probably hasn't been born yet.

Australia is now a left wing country. And that's what most Australian voters want.

"The Liberal Party hasn't been remotely conservative since the so-called moderates took over. They proved beyond a shadow of doubt that they don't want government unless they can be Labor-lite"

Aren't the 2 parties not just progressive (Labor) versus conservative, but also working class interests (Labor) versus business class interests (Conservative)

The conservative also wanted more immigration for their business class interests, ended up with so many immigrants voting for the left, they were no longer able to win inner city seats, then the in-fighting started, some factions wanted to stay true to their principles, whilst others were willing to sell out those principles in order to win.
What's the point if you can't win?
The party started to tear itself apart, and here we are.

Me personally I'll label any party that acts as Israel-firsters as outright traitors.
This effectively makes it a one-horse race for me.
Dutton and Ley held zero appeal for me anyway.
