She probably can't be forced to do it, but Australia's censor-in-chief, $400,000 plus p.a Julie Inman Grant, has been invited to appear before the US Congress to answer accusations that Australian laws threaten the free speech of Americans.

She is described as a “zealot for global takedowns”.

The letter, said to have been delivered on 18th November, requests attendance by 2nd December.

The letter states that Inman Grant's “claim of extraterritorial jurisdiction to censor speech outside of Australia” directly threatens American speech.

I would have thought that the Albanese government, whose creature this public servant is, should have been approached, but there it is.

Inman Grant will not be renewing her contract, thankfully. Much of her arrogant nonsense has been a flop; and the December 10 under 16 law looks like being an unworkable mess.

Any thought that what Australians do is not US business should be tempered with the knowledge of the President's attitude to free speech and, like it or not, what he expects from his allies.

Hopefully her time on the taxpayer dollar will be a lesson for future governments trying to crush our freedoms.
