Hi Paul

Now even the ABC is reporting that Chalmers misrepresented and "cherry picked" unrepresentative parts of Treasury's advice on the cost of small business tax breaks:

http://www.abc.net.au/news/2025-02-26/chalmers-cherry-picked-treasury-costing-coalition-lunch-policy/104982904

The Australian, as you might expect, is more scathing:

Hi Rhian,

I see nothing appropriate about a cost to taxpayers of even half a billion dollars per year on luxury lunches for the Big End Of Town, with or without the taxpayer funded mandatory bottles of Bollinger at these social piss ups!

We have young families struggling in this country trying to feed and cloth their children, and these clowns want those families to foot the bill for the bosses lobster and champagne lunch. tell me its not so!

Just today, we were lucky to have a couple of crates, not of Bollinger, but 3L bottles of fresh milk to distribute, not thanks to the government, but to a generous private individual, we keep them for families with young kids. One mother had tears in her eyes, said; "I bought a 2lt on the weekend but its gone". Half a billion you say, that's, at $1.60 litre carton, 312,500,000 cartons of milk! I know what I would choose!

"half a billion dollars per year on luxury lunches for the Big End Of Town,"

Ahem, the proposal to make entertaining tax deductible applies to small business. Nothing to do with the Big End of Town. But don't let mere facts get in the way of the class warfare rant.

These type of expenses used to be deductible up until the Fringe Benefits Tax changes in the 1980's. BTW, although these lunches must be fully paid for by the small business owner, the big boys in the public service will continue to be able to pass the cost their long lunches to the taxpayer. I'm sure Paul's all good with that.

It seems the ALP are getting pretty scared that their abysmal three years in government might come back to haunt them. Now they're going back 15 years (!!) to try to find something on Dutton. It seems their theory is that someone who wasn't in the government, who wasn't privy to the government's policy decisions and wasn't even in a shadow ministry position that had anything to do with finances,.... that such a person somehow got wind of what was going to happen and profited. No evidence mind you but who needs evidence? Paul certainly doesn't....never has.

What's next? Is someone about to come forward to claim that Dutton stolen his lunh money in 3rd grade?.

As I said, I think the ALP is starting to get very nervous. They could of course try to fight the election on their record, but since they haven't got one, childish smear seems to be the go.

Trumpster,

"Dutton stolen his lunh (sic) money in 3rd grade". Nah! Dud Dutton, wants to steal the lunch money from the battlers paying tax and paying for their own lunch, and give it to his business mates, so they can enjoy the lobster and champagne at some long lunch piss up!

Trumpster, so you are happy to see Aussie children go hungry, so that bosses can dine on lobster and champagne. That's you all over!

p/s I don't think your Fearless Leader, Fat Clive, by the look of him, needs to stuff much more of the free lunch into his gut!

It seems poor old Paul doesn't understand the term 'Small Business'.

Oh and he seems to be admitting that under the ALP " Aussie children go hungry".

Hmmmmmm.

Trumpster,

"Oh and he seems to be admitting that under the ALP " Aussie children go hungry".

ABSOLUTLY Trumster, a pox on all governments who allow children in a rich country like Australia, to go hungry! A double pox on the Noalition for wanting taxpayers to subsidise a lobster and champagne lunch for bosses whilst children starve. You Trumster, by your justification of Noalition policy is also in the poxy boat as well.
