It's not going to be a matter of wanting to enlist or not. The post Labor economic circumstances will make it an absolute necessity to keep inflation, unemployment & crime down.
The coffers are too lean to keep on offering support packages & frivolous projects funding.
It's not military conscription in the traditional sense, it's a mentality rescue.
The Public Service is now too saturated to recruit more Labor/Left voters. The time is now right to put an ultimatum to the coming generations to discard unaffordable Woke & DEI nonsense.
People are worried about genetic engineering yet they embrace & defend it when it is portrayed as Woke i.e. social engineering ! There's an extremely dangerous fine line separating the two.
The irresponsible lowering of education standards has already divided society & once this impacts economically that fan will really cop what's being flung at it by the Disciples of stupidity !

You came to this country as a "migrant refugee" ashamed to say from where, probably from Europe where your people had turned it into a sh!thole through waring with each other. When you had the opportunity to enlist in the Army (Australian citizens up to the age of 35), you failed to do so, you have admitted that in the past. Now as some Old Fart, safe from any military service, you bang on about young people and what they should do, some crackpot idea of national service. I ask what national service have you ever done for Australia? Other that years of living off the public purse, I'd say NONE!

I was away last week, met a bunch of young people who had a rocky start to life, but are now on the right track, and developing talents that will see them have a bright future.

Dividing the country with 2 different groups of Australians is actually a better division than dividing it over (the invaders) loyalties to foreign nations.

'Supporters of Israel and non-supporters of Israel'
- (Basically AntiSemites - because if you don't fully support Israel that's what you are by the foreigners definition'

Whereas with this division - the latter anti-semites should be openly hounded like dogs, charged and imprisoned for their views as holding a a different opinion in regards to this particular cult is considered unacceptable.

I'm not sure any western countries are able to meet recruitment targets.
Nobody wants to die for Taiwan or Ukraine, or any other stupid western provoked war, o to protect the U.S dollar.

People have become confused as to what they would even be fighting for;
And that means we'll lose, because we don't have the moral high ground or the will to suffer the hardships brought by war.

You've been here long enough to remember that we have discussed Non Military National Service before rather than straight-out military Service.
A NMNS would be a mentality restorer & those so inclined would then be in a position to make an informed choice if they want a career in the armed Forces or in industry etc. What the point here is, is the offer & opportunity to instil a sense of respect, responsibility & belonging in those in the 18-21 year range & those who are already well adjusted will have no qualms about sharing & offering their healthy mentality with those who need the exposure to it !
We have to offer young people whose parents & or present society failed them, the Right to participate in Society building & offer them hope to live in a better society than what we are now !
