or disinformation and protecting freedom of expression is a
challenge with no easy answer."
She says that "there does need to be to strong transparency and
scrutiny safeguards to protect freedom of expression."
I'm not sure if these mechanisms are part of the draft bill's
current form.
The Human Rights Commissioner further points out "that
if we fail to ensure robust safeguards for freedom of expression
online, then the measures taken to combat misinformation and
disinformation could themselves risk undermining Australia's
democracy and freedoms."
That's why we need to see what the proposals will be after the
bill is debated in parliament. Hopefully amendments will
be made to rectify people's concerns.
