I wouldn't support us having a nuclear deterrent just for the sake of it.
I'd support it because it would give us more freedom to be non-aligned geopolitically, and chart our own course rather than be drawn into other nations conflicts.

I don't think that being unconditionally joined to America's hip where their foreign policy is concerned is a good thing.
