Government Minister Murray Watt claims that queer behaviour and its promotion is an “Australian value”.

Australia's ambassador to Iran, a country where homosexuality and other sexual deviance attracts the death penalty, posted on ‘Australia in Iran’ Instagram account information about Wear It Purple Day, along with a photo of himself and two other purple-garbed pathetics leering at the camera. They were “dedicated to creating a supportive environment where everyone, especially LGBTQIA+ youth can feel proud to be themselves.”

As would be expected, the Iranian Foreign Affairs Ministry objected to the content published by the Australian embassy as being “insulting and contrary to Iranian and Islamic tradition, customs and culture.”

I don't think that we should even have an embassy in Iran, but if we must, surely a more diplomatic diplomat, and a policy not to insult the locals in their own country wouldn't be a bad idea.

But, no. Up jumps good old Murray Watt, saying, “We’re very proud about the fact that our embassies promote Australian values internationally.”

Sexual deviance, an Australian value?

And, he is “very concerned to see an overseas government seemingly take action against an Australian embassy that is upholding Australian values.”

Australians should be ‘concerned’ about the likes of Murray, and the apparent idiots they send to represent Australia in countries which any fool knows have very different beliefs and values from our own. Murray might also give at least some credence to the fact that millions of Australians don't share the same ‘values’ as he and the Albanese government do.
