individual,

I used the term advanced to mean modern industrially developed nations.

However, I agree with you that the so-called "advanced" nations of this world seem to be increasingly devoid of basic wisdom and respect for the environment. As such, due to their greed and willful ignorance, they could be viewed as backwards.

Bin Laden is said to have died on the 13 dec 2001. see http://www.veteranstoday.com Search the article BIN LADEN LONG DEAD.
The US Govt wanted to keep him alive for their war mongering purposes. We saw bad visual imitations and voice overs on the media but no one took them to task.

The USA has forces 13 times bigger than it's nearest rival, yet Obama continues to increase the military budget even when the country is broke.

This is not about left V's right ,it is about knowing the truth.I see more than the potential for serious wars in the near future instigated by the USA.We must all become aware and stop them.

It's rather more complicated than that Daviy- as the people of Australia, the USA and UK have no actual right to say "no" at all to war- at most, we could have waited a couple of extra months/years after we are signed up to the conflict till the next election, and vote in a potentially much worse government because they might possibly sort-of pull us out.
Pilger's rather outlines two extremely frightening aspects of our governance:
1- that the ONLY thing needed to send Australia to war is a motive in a handful of politicians, the necessity of will of the people meaning zilch.
2- that they cannot be held to account in a remotely effective manner.
