The times they are a changin' John.Alan Jones just last week lambasted you for getting the Sydney peace prize.I've sent him some gut wrenching reality evidence of US corporate totalitarianism. If he has the courage to view it,then we will see a ground shift in his political commentary.
A friend of mine has just recently visited Cambodia, and she says it still has an erry feeling. It is a void left by the US support of Pol Pot who directly murdered with US aid, one million people and another 2 million died from disease and poverty.Pol Pot targeted the intelligent people and thus today, still have no real direction. No matter what your political persuasion, all people should have the right to self determination be it communist or capitalist.Currently we have Corporatist facism and our Govts are too weak to take them on. Arjay yes all people have a right to self-determination but Communism never allowed more than a token initial opposition which was always subsequently wiped out. All the communist regimes were and still are obsessed with crushing dissent and suffer extreme paranoia!
How and when did the US help Pol Pot? That was the preserve of Pilger and his fellow travelers who were the cheer squad for communism. However I do agree our politicians are too ready to take the corporate largesse rather than confront the excesses of some Companies. Posted by JBowyer, Friday, 13 November 2009 9:51:57 PM

“Are you a friend? Please say.” asked the12-year-old boy with fear crossing his face....
My problem is that we make so much noise to help stop a war.... as we ought, and then lose focus. The village citizens wounded, war-torn, their communities are left for the most to fend for themselves. We have short-sightedness regardless of our best intentions, We scream like low-down bigots when it comes to pushing for the Millennium Development Goals, especially in our pledges of financial support signed at the UN World 2005 Summit and other strategic forums, since. It is no wonder many of these regions and lesser developed nations have trouble with governance, the rule of law, respect for human rights and peace and border security. Having little or no money, goods, or other means of support leaves a poor family living on in a cycle of increased poverty. A law dependent upon charity or public support is no way to run a country in need of some fair trade and socio-economic and political resources ..... Recall David O'Shea reports from Cambodia, where locals are now faced with a new peril - rampant land developers literally smashing entire communities, leaving thousands homeless. http://www.sbs.com.au/dateline/story/about/id/600013/n/Cambodia-For-Sale What do we, the rest of the world do? Simply Watch. We are passive and powerless until we demand as citizens more from APEC and ASEAN, and our Regional Leaders. PLEDGES: If we the world can raise something like $4 trillion for the banks, in crisis.... why can we not keep our promises and be more willful on the account of others where it could provide some equity and reason for balance. Forget me not the rule of prevention. http://www.miacat.com/ , Posted by miacat, Saturday, 14 November 2009 8:34:22 PM

For him to blame Nixon and Kissinger is beyond the pale. It was Communism that did this and in newspaper debates in the 1960's it was generally acknowledged that over one hundred million people had been killed by Communism.
A useless belief that did not last one century but was aided and abetted by the likes of JP. Now he is going to try an rewrite history as all good communist did lol.
