When three-quarters of individual taxpayers require professional help to lodge their return, it’s a hint the system is too complex.

Why is it reasonable to assume perfect information in non-perfect beings? Surely that is nonsense?

All economic theory is nonsense with no correlation to the real world.

Accountants and economists are very good at baffling us with BS.
Make it needlessly complex and you ensure ignorance and/or indifference.
The banking and insurance sector has used this to great effect, hiding the fact that billions in "profit" is un-earned and a burden on the economy.
Middle class welfare needs to be removed. Make it a tax rebate if necessary but stop paying people to breed!
