I absolutely agree with the concept/phrase of 'elective dictatorship'. the multitude of other philosophical, economic, and environmental questions can't be addressed adequately until we examine and set right the Hobbesian melancholy afflicting modern society. may you're voices be heard from the hills....

Amen.
Well spoke the authors and Matt Keyter. Democracy may appear shambolic at times but that is far better than an uncontested political duopoly. Which has resulted in a personality fest of interchangeable roles of Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Carp regardless of which is in power.
Clearly the public don't trust either lot hen the state of the Federal Senate.
As for QLD the term ‘self interested recalcitrance’ come to mind or a population looking for the “good old days” that never was.
