Daylight Saving is going to be an issue in the 2009 election campaign.

With both major parties currently ignoring this issue, and the State's majority of constituents who support it, DS4SEQ are providing an avenue for the people to stand up and have their say.

DS4SEQ - the Daylight Saving for South East Queensland Party are proposing a dual time zone arrangement, that would satisfy the needs of regional and rural Queenslanders, while also giving fair consideration to the majority of South East Queenslanders who are frustrated at continually being ignored on this issue.

I'm a bit strapped for time now, but I'll check out the link for DS4SEQ. I, personally, am against daylight savings - but I live in Townsville, which is further west than Roma and quite far up the state. Obviously this makes a big difference to our daylight arrangements! While a split timezone within the state is not an ideal arrangement, the size of the state may well make it necessary. And there are obvious advantages for Brisbane and the Gold Coast to share office hours with the southern states.
