China too must confront obesity : Comments

China must confront changing diets, more sedentary lives, and a 'plump is prosperous' culture to halt obesity.

Now if only there was some evidence that being overweight or even obese is dangerous. Perhaps the Chinese will do what our 'experts' haven't done and tell the truth. That the preponderance of evidence is that being overweight (based on BMI) is beneficial to health, that there is little to no evidence that being obese is particularly harmful and that it is only when people become grossly obese that negative health effects can be shown.

China must not confront anything. INDIVIDUALS can confront obesity THEMSELVES.
