Voting at York: women bishops and the Anglican Church : Comments

After the vote to accept women bishops, conservatives feel betrayed and exiled from the family.

Athanasius, your comments would be valid if the church and it's members did not seek to influence the world outside it's membership with it's values. Clearly that's not the case so if the church embraces sexism and intollerance that will spill over into the values embraced by politicians who are part of the church, it will spill oover into the work done by various christain organisations (many heavily government funded), it will spill over into the values taught to children attending church run schools (also heavilly government funded).

It's quite valid for those outside the church to comment on the values of the church when those values impact on the freedoms and "matters of life and death" for those who do not voluntarily choose to be part of your communion.
