By Louise Staley, published 27/6/2008

The problem with Gordon Ramsay isn't his swearing. It's his hypocrisy.

Australian fresh produce suffers from the ridiculous waste of energy caused by the major supermarkets using central buying. In the case of Coles mangoes grown in Mareeba, near Cairns are trucked to the Melbourne wholesale market where the Coles buyer, from Costas, selectes the produce which is then shipped to Coles suprmarkets all around Australia, including Cairns.

Latins used to say: "In vino veritas" ie true colours only show when people are drunk. The article is too long, shows too much importance for that chef who undoubtely uses too many vulgar expressions and is biased. Everything should be brought back into perspective:
1-yes, many people working in restaurants have poor hygienic practises and poor professional skills.
2-yes, the all food industry should be kept under stricter regulations
because our health depends on it.
3-yes, local produce must be helped because is seasonal (cheaper),
fresher(shorter travel) and helps the local economy.
4-yes, good ideas can come from anywhere and anybody, included comunist people. I am not one. A good idea is good. End of story.
