The tax hike on pre-mixed drinks will yield $500 million for the next four years. That's a lot of money for a government with election promises to keep.

Low alcohol content is a reason to consume a larger volume of drinks only: cakers make be nahes (ho ho ho).

Perhaps, NO OVERDOSE should become a modern addition to Ten Commandments if it not included in by the Pope recently.

Educating people is a double-dissolution to a problem: the more people looking for something outside drunk copulating the less income of fat cats benefiting state tax coffins both directly and indirectly.

The use of a drug is determined by its availability. Price is a big factor and that is why the price is being increased.

Ethanol causes an enormous amount of carnage, much more than the taxes on it can pay for. The government is right to tax the alcoholics who end up in hospitals and courts, not to mention their countless victims.

To be fair, all alcoholic drinks need to be taxed more. Much more.
