Dickie,
Mate I dont know were you were but I reckon it would have been either Alice Springs, Atherton, Mareeba or Darwin because thats where Ive been ripped off by "locals".

Your not alone some people think the rest of us owe them a living. They should get off thier lazy arses and work like the rest of us. Sitting down and copping a quid is shameful and reflects badly on thier communities.

They were throwing water bombs. Hardly Privy Council stuff. Get used to vocal and unruly kids. They're kids not the Bra Boys. You'll have to get a thicker hide if you're going to survive in Australia mate.

Welcome to Australia.

Now if it was a bunch of black kids throwing water balloons then it becomes another and that lifeguard would have been right on to it.

You can't have just any kids being playful and Aussie.

there are rules you know!!

PS. Dickie, we had a BBQ and it all tasted great! Thanks

I've been wondering if Cheryl is a parent. Whilst I wouldn't have won any awards for child rearing, had my kids been the culprits at Curl Curl, they would have been grounded for 2 months.

It's great to have water fights with each other........it's not polite to fire missiles at strangers.

Try walking down my main street, avoiding the kids skate boarding, who have no intention of giving way to pedestrians or kids racing their bikes on narrow footpaths oblivious to others.

All must give way to these hoons where, if you complained to their parents, they'd simply advise you to F&%%$k off and get a life!

Ah....no no Cheryl. I worked with kids for 10 years and I like them. However, many of the types you are excusing, showing the least respect for adults, didn't do so well in life. I trust none of them were yours?

Cheryl, I gather you were employing irony in your comment i.e. - illustrating that the territorialism that leads to kids behaving badly on beaches, if unchecked, leads to the territorialism that resents Australian citizens who were not born here objecting to bad behaviour as any Aussie is entitled to do?

But in this instance your post is in danger of being misinterpreted to mean that Aussies who are at least second generation not only condone unnacceptable behaviour in their offspring but take some kind of inverse pride in it as being part of the Aussie culture.

The phrases "You have get used to it..." and the necessity for a thicker skin in regards to it if "you want to survive in Australia" (especially with that "mate" bit on the end)could be perceived as especially misleading.

What a country of louts we'd be if that were true, eh?
