Kevin07’s election strategy: just stand for nothing : Comments

By Jonathan J. Ariel, published 30/8/2007

Jonathon Ariel may not know what Kevin Rudd stands for, but I and most Australians do. He will not, unfortunately, rip up WorknotcalledChoicesanymore, but he will rip a few pages out of it. Given the way in which that law trashes a key element of Australian life that we have enjoyed for over a century, the decent treatment of working people, that is enough for me. We can look forward to the end of AWAs and the return of collective bargaining.

He will also bring in a national curriculum in co-operation with the states and provide technical facilities for every secondary school in the nation. We can all read the newspapers. There is a whole raft of policies already presented, and there will be more.

In any case, the real test of Labor will be if it wins government. Victorians just elected Steve Bracks in 1999. They were so pleased with the resultant improvements in democracy, health, education and the like that they re-elected him in two of the greatest landslides ever. Following the precedent set by the voters of Victoria, even if voters decide to give Kevin Rudd a chance, once they have experienced a federal Labor Government, they will give it an increased majority in the subsequent election.

That's sticking to the official definition of terrorist which excludes "legitimate" governments and their agencies.

xoddam,

What about that wonderful Christian organisation trying to rule by the Ten Commandments in Unganda called 'The Lord's Resistance Army' who like to torture, kill and rape children. Not to mention the KKK. The list goes on.

Jonathon

The reason many people perceive George Bush as a terrorist is because his lone decision to invade Iraq, and lie about the motive for it, has been singularly responsible for the death of thousands, maybe over the million mark, of Iraqis, Americans, British, and 'coalition of the willing' forces.

I think GB has challenged many peoples perceptions of what a terrorist looks like, and what a terrorist sounds like.

Article from: AAP

A FUNDAMENTALIST church pastor had sex with two of his teenage daughters to educate them on how to be good wives, a South Australian court has heard. "

Another fine Christian. I'm sure he didn't vote for those nasty left wingers.
