Why was Milton Friedman so influential? : Comments

Milton Friedman's constant theme was that free market policies were in the interests of the common man.

I would suggest that Friedman was so influential because he was a champion of the one dimensional reductionist clockwork universe of totally independent entitities.
This dreadfully sane "world"-view being the "reality" in which we all "live".
The consumer rules OK!
The word consume means to destroy.
And that is exactly what we have done and are doing.

Freedom of the individual is THE CREATIVE FORCE OF MANKIND. Friedman's adoption of, and propounding, this philosophy, will remain a momumental achievement in the realm of the intellect. And one must bear in mind, that Friedman was highly influenced by one of the wisest and strongest advocates of the freedom, and charisma, of the individual, Ayn Rand.
