I often wonder about our own complicity in the forced extinction of animals. Not only do we have bad habits and practices with regard to our treatment of animals but how on earth can we allow Chinese 'chemists' to set up shop and dispense traditional medicine to Chinese people living in Australia.

Once the source of these traditional medicines becomes extinct we should be witness to vast numbers of Chinese people literally dropping dead in front of us. If that doesn't happen we might point to the use of animal parts to cure maladies as little more than black magic.
