Sounds like a sensible approach to something that could turn into a farce if we are not careful, and continue to allow the drones in Canberra to call the shots.

Evo Morales of Bolivia says that their people try to live by three tenets:

"Don't lie. Don't steal. Don't be lazy."

I would like to offer this, not only as an easily understood statement for old and new Australians alike, but as an Australian Constitution.

Forget all the legalistic jargon - all the politically inspired mumbo-jumbo. This simplest of statements should be carved into every public building, printed across every government letterhead, taught to every child as a formal subject in the school curriculum.

Sometimes the most profound things lie right under your nose.

to the quote from Chris Shaw
"Don't lie. Don't steal. Don't be lazy."
I would like to add one other.
"Love thy neighbour" and perhaps it should be reworded into a positive statement.

"Be truthful. Be honest. Work hard. Respect your fellow man."

"having full protection and assistance of Australia’s law"

The full protection of Australia's laws should cease at our border in some cases. For instance, you should not enjoy the benefit of Australia's laws if you are taken prisoner fighting in a foreign country for an outlawed outfit. If you get caught you're on your own and that applies to Australian-born citizens whose IQ equals their shoe size.

Australian citizenship should mean something and it should be cherished by those who receive it.

"However, we need more tolerance and less dissension. We need to realise that we live as one nation, not as separate cultural groups. Our identity should be sought in an “Australian” framework."

Well one way to start would be to get rid of the policy of Multiculturalism.
