There was nothing but praise for John Howards foreign policy concernig Asia and particularly China in this article. However John Howard is deserving of criticism for his silence in condeming human rights violations in China. The contrast between USA foreign policy and Australias is stricking. For example John Howard refuses to meet the Dali Lama, while in America he recieves a standing ovation from Congress. Essentially John Howards foreign Policy concerning Asia is further reason for the assertion that John Howard is morally bankrupt.

John Howard is better described as stubborn than as dogged. He refuses to listen to reason, refuses to change his mind, and has stuck to his incompetent and immoral views over many years in spite of overwhelming arguments against them.

This is not leadership. Stubborness is stupid.
