Two things Des, firstly the Davies Commission has not yet reported, secondly, the Howard Government cut nearly $1 billion from the States public Health budget last year over the next 5 years, when it has a federal surplus of $13.6 billion. Beattie is the only Premier to do something about the neglect of public health in Queensland, in the last 40 years, for goodness sake give credit, where its due, he has done what he could with limited resources, if you want more reform, I suggest you take up the funding issue with Tony Abbott, and try to prise a couple of billion lose from federal coffers to improve management practises at Queensland Health.
