Excellent piece, John. I notice that you've been gunning for reform for some time, with savings not only in govt budgets but better healthcare all round. To one in healthcare, the logic is impeccable. But it seems to me the biggest stumbling block is rarely mentioned. How are you, or anyone for that matter, going to divest control from state health depts such as the DHS down here? No-one is prepared to do that, and until they do, the present impasse will remain. It seems to me that only the Commonwealth govt can do it, but at their great peril. So the status quo remains. How can we pressure the DHandA to act?
