The work-life balance paradox : Comments

I agree wholeheartedly with this article. Workers have lost sight of why they are working at all and the fallout from these unreasonable demands from employers and the Government that does nothing to address it is a stressed workforce, which is indeed counter productive to both the employer and the worker. Family life suffers as a consequence and social problems ensue with out of control teens and a general feeling of discontent by all. There is no other way to deal with this by a worker who feels disempowered than by absenteeism, which is rife in the workplace. I strongly suspect that most people are not physically ill but simply in need of a break. General health is also an issue affected by this and will lead to more strain on the public purse. It's a lose-lose situation.
