Fact 1: Rubbers assist in the prevention of STD's - not perfect but better than nothing.

Fact 2: Expecting all human beings to remain 100% faithful if in relationship or 100% celibate if single is to be out of touch with the reality of human nature - hence the 'ad hominem' suggestion to study humanities.

Unfortunately the newly elected pope is unlikely to be any more enlightened than you. However, I would be interested in your reaction if Benedict does do a backflip on condoms.
