The Marxist revolution requires total dystopia before they can "build back better" their utopia. The destruction of all free western civilization, world wide, not just Australia, is their intentional goal. They had a big push with the Covid scam, but fortunately, they failed. They did achieved some ground. They'll do it again in another push, somehow, someday, and keep chipping away at the corner stones. They're very good at it.

My only point of difference with you is that, my thoughts, it's too late for Australia. Their dystopia in Australia, is almost a reality. All that's required is to sell off what remains of Australia to China in a slow peaceful takeover. We don't need a defence force to stop that. That we have a problem with moving goods between states and major urban centres is undeniable. Likewise, that we have too many trucks moving 'stuff' over vast distances. But the solution to the problem, like the solutions to all problems, is never more government and especially more government 'investment'.

It isn't mentioned here but a system of cabotage exists in Australia as regards to moving goods by air and sea within the nation. This means that all such goods must be moved (with some minor exceptions) on and by Australian owned and crewed vessels. One way to reduce the vehicular pressure on our interstate roads would be to abandon cabotage rules- less, rather than more, government.

While the author lauds the Motorway of the Sea system in Europe, it hasn't been all that successful except in a few specific cases that don't really apply to Australia. Ultimately, it needs to be noted that truck transport remains the primary means of getting goods from A to B within the EU.

If the aim is to great trucks off the interstate highways, the solution is rail. The problem with rail is that it, like the proposed MoS is government run and is therefore hopelessly costly and inefficient. Resolve that and all else follows.

This is a serious comment.
Australians appear to like having their thinking done for them.
They will believe easily what they are told, rather than think things through for themselves.
They are almost immature in their approach to some matters.
This is the impression I have gained from watching responses reported in news items.
I hope I am wrong about this.
Visionary ideas are fine, but must be understood and appreciated by the people at large.
When this appreciation isn't there, visionary ideas will be something existing in name only.
Something heard about, but not significant.
How can we change education, and encourage truthful thought and awareness?
The population at large needs to be reason driven rather than instinct driven.
Reason will allow us to make intelligent decisions.
Instinctive behaviour will lead us to what we like, rather than what is good for us.
