I see OneNation fulfilling the role for the right that the Greens fulfill for the left - mop up the votes that the more moderate mainstream miss and then funnel them back via the preferential voting system.

In addition to making sure that most of the right-leaning votes end up with right or conservative-leaning candidates, OneNation is also likely to pick up a few (maybe quite a few) lower house seats and a significant number of upper house members.

In that case they will also fulfill the role on the right that the Greens fill on the left. They will constantly be trying to tug the right further right as the Greens tug the left further left, and, in comparison, make the majority right parties seem moderate and constrained.

Since the overthrow of Abbott I've been looking for the Liberals to become more Liberal and less Labor-lite. It seems that that isn't going to happen within the party which seems more wedded the internal politicking than representing the majority of their natural constituency. But the rise of OneNation and their likely electoral impact may well achieve the same outcomes with the Liberals being forced, against their inclination to become more like the party their natural constituency wants.

One Nation is the hope for for the working class, hence so much misinformation & intense opposition from the largely parasitic pseudo intellectual class.
