An Old Fart with nothing else to whinge about except the weather. Farmers are fortunate that it is the Australian taxpayer that foots the bill when it comes to weather forecasting for their benefit.

The BOM short term forecasting is brilliant: The further out in time, the more imprecise the science.
I don’t get the impression that long range forecasts are intended as something to stake you life on; see it as an educated guess!

The $96 million website overhaul (quoted at $4 million) hasn't made them any smarter.

I actually agree with DD.
Neither the BOM, ttbn, the author nor I have a crystal ball.
The weather forecast is a "best guess" based on the vagaries of the Planet, a dynamic system. As such it is constantly changing.

The weather in Nuremberg today, cloudy with a high of 22°C and a low of 14°C. No need to put the "Ledermantel" on today, winter will come soon enough.
