Oil moves our machines, but electricity is the cornerstone of our quality of life : Comments

By Ronald Stein, Olivia Vaughan and Steve Curtis, published 21/5/2026

Some of us confuse the discussion of 'energy' to mean 'electricity'. Energy is well over a trillion-dollar annual market in the US, but less than half of it is electricity.

Vegemite sandwiches and black outs are the way of the future for growing numbers of the disenfranchised in our society, as the struggle to stay housed loses the only energy that matters, the will to survive.

WTF?

Step away for a couple of weeks only to come back to see tripe like this.

I wonder if this article is an inditement of the U.S. education system as it appears to be pitched at 9th graders in high school and not adults.

Take a look at this nonsense -"The ignorance of the "energy ILLITERATE" leaders is shocking, as they NEVER explain how the "energy" from wind turbines and solar panels can provide TRANSPORTATION FUELS."

Note the capitalisation of something that nobody has said ever.

Are the capitals designed to draw attention to the ignorance of the authors - surely they cannot expect adults to believe this?
