Peace in Middle East needs a phenomenal shift in Israel's approach : Comments

By Manoj Mishra, published 10/4/2026

A US-Iran ceasefire is only the first step. Lasting peace will require Israel to abandon the logic of permanent regional war.

Bravo AC!

And bravo to gutsy young women like Grace Tame and Greta Thunberg who speak up against injustice no matter the personal cost!

Around 2000 brave activists from all around the world are preparing to embark on yet another aid flotilla to Gaza. Just watch the depraved depths Israel will stoop to in order to prevent these plucky volunteers and their cargo of aid from reaching starving Palestinians.

You're correct, AC, Israel is the aggressor and always has been. From the moment this ethno-apartheid state was arbitrarily imposed on land belonging to others, it has employed violence against its neighbours to satisfy its insatiable greed for more and more land and control. It's waged genocide on Gaza for eight decades and is now using the same playbook in Lebanon.

Israel subjects around 10000 Palestinian prisoners to starvation, torture and degrading sexual assault involving dogs, bottles and other horrors. And now they've finally passed the law they've long wanted. They can hang them at will ... Israeli justice at its finest!

Under its Hannibal Directive, Israel kills its own, rather than have them taken prisoner. No-one will ever know the exact numbers, but it's estimated that as many as half of the 1200 lives lost on October 7 were mown down by Israeli helicopters.

Then there's the 'double-tap' ... where the Israelis drop a bomb and when the brave Palestinians come to the rescue, as they always do, Israel drops another bomb and kills them too.

The Lebanese are reporting that Israeli drones are broadcasting the message 'Help, I’m injured' in an attempt to lure them out of hiding. There were numerous earlier accounts from Gazans of drones broadcasting the cries of babies and children in a similar attempt to lure people into the open.

No tactic is too evil for Israel to employ in its decades-long goal to erase Palestinians from their lands and usurp them for themselves. The whole world is becoming increasingly aware of Israel's depravity. And no amount of Zionist censorship will ever be enough to silence the growing number of voices speaking up.

Armchair Critic is not the only Jew-hating nutter. To have obnoxious opinions and hatreds is one thing: to completely reverse the facts is something else.

Even in war sensible human principles apply.
The wanton destruction by Israel of civilians in adjoining countries is totally outrageous.
As I understand it, the pain and suffering is extreme.
These people are not 'collateral damage'.
They are a target,
Apparently there are many in Israel who decry the action of their government.
This gives me hope that there could be brighter times ahead.
Mr Netanyahu seems to have the idea that if you smash a country to bits, that will lead to lasting peace.
I think wiser heads than mine should explain to him how wrong he is.

Perhaps the resident Jew haters here might like to comment on Iran's education system?

Another one of them comes up with the myth of “wanton destruction of civilians”, when Israel continually warned civilians before all military actions took place, ensuring that fewer civilians were killed in warfare by an enemy than ever have been in similar situations. One day, the number of Gazan civilians killed by their own people might be revealed; but killed by their own they were, if not as human shields, then via straightforward murder.

No mention of the Israeli innocent civilians slaughtered on October 7, 2023 - of course! Or the treatment of Israeli citizens captured and kept underground - of course!

“Apparently there are many in Israel who decry the action of their government”, he chirps.

Obviously to those of us who lift our gaze above our own navels, there are leftist traitors who hate their own country and people in Israel, just as there are in all Western democratic countries these days, including Australia, and on this very site; spreading idiocies they would be disposed of for in the countries they are siding with; twisting the truth and facts to suit their extreme, antisemitic ideology.

Oh, and a bit more about the children of the regime's elite living it up in western countries, including Australia. I wonder if Burka will be revoking any visas?
