By Binoy Kampmark, published 27/3/2026

The myth of US military invincibility collides with a harder reality: unreadiness, depleted stockpiles, and a war exposing the limits of power.

Hi AC

"US, Israeli Attacks Have Damaged Nearly 500 Schools, 300 Health Centers in Iran"

That might be because the regime uses human shields, just as Hamas and Hezbollah do.

"I thought you said you cared deeply for the Iranian people Fester
- Which is it?"

Tell me, what do you conclude about the humanity of the terrorists using children as human shields? The biggest fear of the average Iranian is that the terrorist theocracy will survive.

Not so many missile and drone attacks now. The regime is finished when Kharg Island gets captured.

Hi Paul,

You might want to compare how the Nazis treated dissenters

with how the Iranians treat dissenters.

https://www.ncr-iran.org/en/news/human-rights/iran-graphic-images-two-more-hanged-in-public/

Note that most Iranian atrocities are censored because of the horror and depravity they depict.

Fester,

The people you refer to are confused, not you. Like me, you are amazed by their stupidity. I read another person's amazement a few days ago. He wrote, “Why do the Australian left support those who want to kill them?”. And they will be killed, as we all will be, if they don't start supporting their own kind and Western values. They will eventually be eaten by the crocodile when everyone else has been fed to it by the treacherous idiots.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion. But, acknowledgement of the right of all people to express their opinions doesn't mean they have to be listened to nor, more importantly, responded to.

The only opinions I am interested in are mine and those of others who hold the same or similar opinions to mine. I hope that the ‘silent majority’ is waking up. But we have a compulsory preferential voting system that overrides the popular vote.

Few people now question the justification for US action against Iran. Those against have to fall back on the Trump Derangement Syndrome to continue making their noise. They are ignored by Trump and all serious people.

The war against Iran has been bubbling away for years because of the corrupt United Nations, and the unbelievable stupidity of previous American administrations.

It is a just war to save the West. It will go on longer than it needs to if American allies, including Australia, don't get involved. Their refusal to help is shameful.

Hi ttbn,

Being well and truly "safe from the action", you like others are all for war. Is there an American war of aggression you have ever opposed, probably not. I ask all gung-ho types such as yourself, what's YOUR military record?

Why should Australia want a war with Iran? They pose no threat to us. Based on the American claim that Iran was about to develop a nuclear weapon, humm. Seems illogical since Trump claimed in 2025 America had "obliterated" Iran's nuclear capability. This seems like another one of those weapons of mass destruction, (WMD) nonsense. You fell for that one, now you are falling for this one.

p/s Australia could be involved, we could send a gun boat full of old farts, and those fuzzy-wuzzy Iranians could feel the thrust of cold steel! Ah!

Hi Paul,

You obviously hate fascism and oppression, and from what I read of you I see care and kindness toward your fellow human beings. So why do you sympathise with a regime that makes the most fanatical of Nazis look cultured and kind?

"Why should Australia want a war with Iran? They pose no threat to us."

The Iranian regime has sponsored acts of terrorism in Australia, such as the burning of synagogues. With its use of propaganda the regime also spreads hatred around the world. Why was Iran building thousands of missiles, some with a range of 4000km? There is no question that they were enriching Uranium and had more than enough to make a bomb. Why did the Greens support Iran's right to build nuclear weapons when it is the view of the Greens that nuclear weapons are not a deterrent?

The current fuel shortage in Australia is not a result of the war against Iran or the blocking of Hormuz Strait: it is a result of the incompetence and pigheadedness of Australian politicians for decades. They simply will not store the agreed 90 days of fuel, nor will they stop asking a few aborigines and loony-Left activists if we can drill for our own oil. The answer is always no, and the political dropkicks believe in minority, not majority, rule.

One of these fools most people would never have heard of, Julie Collins, minister for agriculture, fisheries and forestry, said we ‘can't predict war’.

We can't predict when lots of nasty things will happen, but we know of them, and we insure ourselves against them; unless you are an Australian politician, apparently.

Australia has the lowest fuel reserves - 30 days. The next lowest is Turkey with 100 days.

Talk about backward. The word describes Australia to a tee.
