One Nation, Nationals and Liberals united? It may be the only path to ending Labor-Greens dominance.

"A coalition of Liberal, ON, and the Nationals". You'd think so, wouldn't you. But thus far, Taylor and Canavan remain aligned more with Labor, against ON, and against voters. Neither will back ON's low migration policy, and why not "have more babies", sez Canavan.

Sure, why not, Matt? Never mind that rental and housing affordability remain at all time lows. Maybe peoples should just get a higher paying job, as Joe Hockey used to say.

A tripartite coalition is not a realistic prospect. One Nation will determine its own course in the face of pressure from the Australian Labor Party, the Liberal Party, and the Nationals, and any party aligned with that direction may choose to follow.

The Liberal party is too far up itself to team up with One Nation - apart from the fact that it is too busy trying to be like Labor. As part of the uniparty, it is also keen to replace the Australian population with migrants who come from political environments that might consider entertaining socialist and dictatorial governance.

Canavan has tried to belittle Pauline Hanson on more than one occasion; and like all of them, he will suddenly back down on most of his ‘beliefs’ now that he is a ‘leader’.

After their performance in SA over the weekend, they shouldn't trust any approaches from other parties, and probably will not. One Nation, the only conservative party in the country has nothing in common with the Liberal Party (now a truly small ‘l’ liberal/leftist party, or the Nationals, who are letting down what used to be their rural constituency.

In SA, rural Murray Bridge has gone to One Nation (was Liberal) and the seat of Elizabeth - a working class area if there was ever one, looks like going the same way.

At least 3 seats in the upper house.

One Nation is like no other party. It would be a shame if it was tricked into palling up with any of the others. Keeping the other bastards honest is more worthwhile than being in government on their own or in a coalition. All politicians turn to water when they become the government.

I can see the political landscape "moving from Left/ Right liberalism to a duality of Liberalism/ Traditionalism". Some of the Liberal and National Parties members might make the move across to Traditionalism but many can't get their heads around the new reality (which is actually an old reality). Traditionalist's believe that Liberalism is a tool not a goal (Liberals (Harm Principle Freedom)= Left/ Right/ Woke social progressives/ Libertarianism/ Free Traders).

Liberals on the Left and Right will continue to drown in their stubbornness because they are incapable of even defining the nature of their problem/ paradox, let alone resolving it.

Traditionalist's= Virtue Principle Freedom, etc.

Crying in your beer won’t achieve anything. Wishing to wind the clock back to the “good old days” of the 1950s simply isn’t possible—times have moved on. Many Australians are looking for forward-thinking governments rather than reactionary politics that rely on shock and fear to win support.

The idea that One Nation and Pauline Hanson represent the “saviour of the nation” seems far removed from reality. Over the past three decades, the party has spent far more time making noise on the sidelines than delivering meaningful outcomes. Their record speaks for itself.

The protest vote in South Australia last Saturday was not necessarily a rejection of the incumbent Labor government. Rather, it appeared to reflect frustration among some Liberal voters who feel their party has become increasingly out of touch and ineffective. Figures such as Taylor and Canavan are unlikely, in my view, to inspire those voters back with any real enthusiasm.

Ultimately, One Nation is not a conservative movement in the traditional sense. It presents itself as such, but its politics are better described as reactionary and regressive. Australians deserve better than political theatrics—they deserve serious ideas and constructive leadership.
