Those who claim some right or privilege, based on something they say happened hundreds or perhaps thousands of years ago, are living in a dream world.
That world is fictitious and unreliable.
The real world we live in is today's.
And this includes all people living today.
So it should cover the last hundred years or so.
And it is laws made today which give us our rights today.
Not the laws or habits of some long dead society or group.
We can learn from history.
But do we really want to cling to the playbook they used back then?
Much better to set our own standards.
Base these on the practical needs of people living in today's world.
And allow them to live on land they have occupied and controlled for at least a hundred years.

There never was a two-state solution. There was a two-state proposal but it was based on a series of fantasies and therefore never was a serious solution.

Now that Hamas, Hezbullah and Iran have been decisively defeated on the battle-field, its time to end the conflict for good. In by-gone days the defeated Gazans would have suffered a far worse fate than that proposed for them - think Dacia or what happened to the defeated Poles when the USSR moved in.

Its a measure of how far the world has evolved under the influence of the Anglo versions of fairness and individual rights that the Gazans are being offered a bright future rather than the traditional fate of the defeated aggressor.

Its also a measure of the far-sightedness of Trump and the MAGA movement that the path to peace runs through economic prosperity. We'll see if the Gazans are able to rise to accept the opportunities offered to them but I have my doubts. They, and their leaders, seem determined to live lives of misery on behalf of Allah and there's every chance this will be pissed up against the wall as all previous opportunities have been.

Still, its worth a try and the prospects of peace in the Levant are the brightest they've been for decades.

The following is a little off topic, but relevant to many ideas expressed in previous posts.
It is a sad day when a person dies.
Whoever we are, and whatever our mental makeup.
We are all human beings, after all.
And no one has control over how we come in to existence.
We must accept ourselves as we are, whatever that is.
It is unfortunate that many will be born with an outlook which makes them potentially harmful to others.
This can be amplified by exposure to extreme theories and ideas.
It is clear that this man was well and truly radicalised.
And he did this himself.
I think he developed a genuine belief that what he was doing was right.
But his mental outlook was perhaps too 'strict'.
This caused him to lose sight of the humanness of others.
It is indeed strange how the mind can evolve.
And remember that he couldn't do it all by himself.
There had to be those around him who aided and abetted his decision making.
He led a team effort.
Even so, there is still sadness when a man dies.
Notwithstanding that the way he lived made this likely to happen.
I am sure there are those who disagree strongly with my attitude.
But I can tell them that my world is far more peaceful and accepting than theirs is.
And I prefer it that way.
