Bribery is the modus operandi for the uniparty. Of course they aren't going to curb their spending. A libertarian government “like in Argentina” will never be elected here by greedy voters who have become used to government handouts.

I wouldn't give Argentina up as a shining example of a free democracy, these so called libertarians, are often no more than right wing extremists trying to infiltrate democracy with a grab bag of feel good promises, the Libertarian Party is such a mob in Australia,

Reporters Without Borders (RSF) has warned of an "immense threat" to press freedom, with Argentina falling 47 places in their 2025 World Press Freedom Index, following a rise in hostile rhetoric, the dismantling of public media, and attempts to limit access to information by the Libertarian Party.

Perhaps Australia's have to get down to the level that Argentinians were at until they had the nous to do what those Argentinians did: elect a libertarian. Things were much worse there, and there's still a long way to go. But, they have had government spending slashed by 30%.

Meanwhile back at the ranch, Australian voters and Australian politicians deserve each other; both groups are self-interested, self-serving types with little concern for their country and society.

Fuelled by government austerity, Argentina's poverty level stands at 38% of the population living below the poverty line. Argentina has been forced to make billion dollar debt repayments to both US and international financiers.
