I not holding my breath. In fact I've pretty much abandoned all hope. You cannot pack a country with non-Westerners and expect everything to go well. But that's what the uniparty has done.

Australia; we’re a divided and chaotic society, thanks to multiculturalism. There can be no agreement overall that will unite the factions, when the country is Governed by self interest in favour of unity, and certainly, the LNP are not the answer to that challenge, anymore than are the Labor party: Both encourage disunity through exploiting sectionalism for the sake of power and control.

Australia must be governed by people with a vision for the country, focused on unity, if that vision and achievement will ever be possible, which long ago disappeared into the dust of of a vanishing possibility.

This is a country not only divided along ethnic lines, but increasingly divided on religious lines leading inextricably towards sectarian conflict.
It has destroyed the dreams of coming generations by offering slavery to debt through housing shortages and unbridled rents, a cost of living crisis, slaughter on the streets of innocents, a hollowed out society with a yawning gap of disparity.

Both the major parties have equally displayed their main function as that of a freak show.

Death to them all; and kudos to the mocking contempt of the rag tag ONP, who recognises the moral corruption we all mutually observe and the consequences we, on the ground, live with day to day.

“Just 70 - 80 staff.” I can only imagine most of those staff are young LNP wannabe politicians who have literally zero experience in the thing they are the “senior policy advisors” for. It is a patronage system where loyalty is critical. Skills and experience are optional. If you can’t develop policy with 70 staff, I’m not sure what you’re actually doing.

Dear Scott,

The term “opposition” appears to me to be a negative approach to your objective in writing this article. It’s a little like calling the “reserves” of a rugby team “bench players” or “replacements”. Whereas “finishers” would be a more positive, dynamic, and inclusive term.

Instead of “opposition”, “minority group” would seem to me to be a more positive appellation on the political scene. It opens the mind to positive qualities such as diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) that allow for bipartisanship, positive criticism, progress, development, refinement and amelioration.

The objective of democracy is justice. The concept of democratic justice is deeply intertwined with the idea of contradictory debate. This dynamic is characterised by the presence of diverse perspectives, interpretations of facts, and emotional investments in public discourse. These contradictions are not merely obstacles but are essential for fostering critical thinking and the evolution of ideas.

They challenge participants to dissect complex issues and uncover underlying truths, which is crucial for building a just society. The pursuit of justice in a democratic state requires a nuanced understanding of these contradictions, as they shape the mechanisms designed to uphold justice within the government and the broader societal fabric.

opposition in Australia cannot make a difference because it really has few realistic ideas.

Either does govt, that is why the number of battlers are increasing as housing and living costs rise and rise.

I really feel sorry for those starting out without advantage of wealthy from parents.

Cultural issues are also important, but the emphasis on them is really a masquerade for we really have few ideas to save Australia because it really is all too hard
