Discrimination is mostly a matter of personal freedom : Comments

By David Leyonhjelm, published 20/11/2025

From Janis Joplin’s taste in men to apartheid’s brutality, not all discrimination is the same. So why does modern law treat every private choice as a public offence?

to forcibly count others in their society which they never freely agreed to join,
Yuyutsu,
Are you trying to tell us illegal immigrants are forced to come here ? Do you really believe most refugees are genuine ?

Dear Indyvidual,

Why are you diverting the discussion?
I was not speaking specifically of immigrants, nor has it crossed my mind:
practically every human on this planet is being a victim of those "societies".

Yuyutsu,
I'm not, you're evading the cause that necessitates the discussion !

Dear Indyvidual,

The topic here is discrimination.

I expressed my agreement with Rhian about his nice observation.

When you addressed me with the statement:
«Some just don't get it no matter how much evidence is laid before them.»

I had to assume that this was still on topic, and responded accordingly.
Apparently it was not and so I wasted my time.

Immigration may be your favourite topic, but this thread is certainly not the place to discuss it.

Dear Indyvidual,

«Who's talking about immigration ?»

You introduced the topic when you wrote:

«Are you trying to tell us illegal immigrants are forced to come here ? Do you really believe most refugees are genuine ?»
