"The whole world should be up in arms and stop at nothing to" have Hamas return all Israeli hostages and disarm. Only then can peace talks start. The author is an apologist for terrorism and terrorists.

What is desperately needed is an internationally recognised statute of limitations, preferably less than ten years. Devotion to hatred is a poor life choice, especially for the devotee.
Build a bridge and get over it. Crossing the SHB would have been wonderful symbolism for the Palestinians and their supporters to renounce their hatred. Posted by Fester, Tuesday, 26 August 2025 1:16:46 PM

At first glance when I opened the article and saw the figure "60,000", I thought that it referred to the 60,000 extra reservists Israel recently called up to serve in its war on Gaza.
Few in Israel would care for (or even know about) 60,000 dead Arabs, but many more do care for these Israeli men (and a few women between) who were forcibly torn from their family, friends, work, and all their other normal activities to join in the Gazan swamp: some will return from Gaza in coffins, more with missing limbs and even more will be mentally scarred for life. Netanyahu obviously does not care for them either, nor for the remaining Israeli hostages who are starved and tortured in Gaza's tunnels. Had his son been among them, nay had even Moshe Butbul, his wife's elite hairdresser (http://www.yahoo.com/news/netanyahu-wife-building-private-hair-140000984.html), been among them, then this war would have ended years ago. Binyamin Netanyahu will not listen to Donald Trump either, nor even to God - in the whole world there is only one authority figure he respects and blindly obeys: Sarah Netanyahu! Dear Dan,
«Antisemitic treacherous nut job» You and your fellow Christian fundamentalists love the Jews like a farmer loves his pigs - keep them well fed, healthy and fresh for their final slaughter in Armageddon... Posted by Yuyutsu, Tuesday, 26 August 2025 7:06:46 PM

These people aren't Christians Yuyutsu,
They couldn't care less about what Jesus taught. They're more like blood-lusting crusaders. ... and the Jews in Israel by and large seem worse than Nazi SS. In these so-called Christias minds, Jesus would be choosing Palestinian targets for air-strikes with US weapons, that's how 'Christian' they are. If someone were to drop a tactical nuke on the Israeli government I'd celebrate. Maybe Israel will attack Iran again soon, and in response Iran will lay waste to that disgusting nation once and for all. (I can only hope, as nothing else will stop this endless slaughter) What would be the greater evil? Drop a nuke on Israel right now and damn the consequences, or let the slaughter go on for another 100 years? Posted by Armchair Critic, Tuesday, 26 August 2025 8:31:55 PM

Dear Critic,
Have you been drinking or are you genuinely suicidal? Are you not aware that if Israel is nuked, then you will not celebrate for long because in the throes of death, Israel would unleash all its 400 or so nukes and all that will be left alive on this planet would be spiders and cockroaches? a nuclear weapon, even a tactical one, is the most crude and idiotic weapon for the task. With luck it may kill a few Israeli ministers, but it will also kill numerous innocent people, including my family and including the very Israelis who demonstrate day and night against the government and its war... and many "Palestinians" too! Your comment about Jews in Israel being "by and large worse than Nazi SS" is highly offending, false and unfair. The Israeli Nazi party got only 12% of the votes and by now most Israelis oppose the war. The slaughter will not go on for another 100 years because Israel goes for elections in October 2026 at the latest, but be sure that if Israel is hit with a nuclear weapon, then that will provide Netanyahu with the perfect excuse to cancel the elections. Want a better, more intelligent solution? Kidnap Moshe Butbul, hold him hostage, then Sarah will order Binyamin to stop the war - and he will! And actually, why not even a word from you about the Israeli hostages who are being starved and tortured in Gaza's tunnels? Just like you say you will celebrate if Israel's government is killed (and I will only celebrate if no innocent others are injured), Netanyahu celebrates whenever a hostage is killed, because he knows that they are "Leftists" and won't vote for him anyway! Yuyutsu,
" most Israelis oppose the war" Maybe, but the problem that Israel has always faced is that almost all Gazans support the genocide of Israel. They make it a life ambition for their kids, and Albo and PenPen help fund the education with Australian taxes. I wonder how that might equate Palestinians to the SS for AC? For that matter I wonder if the Greens are still supporting Iran's nuclear weapons program? Posted by Fester, Wednesday, 27 August 2025 6:11:04 AM

Dear Fester,
«the problem that Israel has always faced is that almost all Gazans support the genocide of Israel.» Israel HAS faced that minor problem: nobody ever gets everyone to love them. But what can the Gazans do now? And what could they do even back then, before October 7th 2023, had Israel been united? Practically nothing: Had Israel been united, then it would be successfully guarding its borders as it did for so many years before. That particular dreadful night, Israel was the very opposite of alert: It was a public festival and most soldiers were on leave. The remaining IDF was ordered to carefully watch Lebanon in the north, leaving only an unprecedented handful to guard Israel's south (a month earlier, Israel held a major military exercise simulating and preparing for a similar event as October 7th... only on its northern border). The various sightings and intelligence of Hamas' preparations were blatantly ignored, too many of them to be explained by statistical bad luck. "Somehow" in those crucial hours, Israel's glorious air-force made stupid mistakes and its planes circled other areas following obsolete orders, "somehow" Netanyahu was not awakened by any of his aids, somehow he knew and declared immediately when he did eventually wake that it is a war, not just a skirmish, and that it would last more than a year... way before the picture of what was happening stabilised and its extent revealed... how could he possibly tell? Netanyahu - that man who financed Hamas for years, allowing them to acquire all those rockets and dig all those tunnels. Well the evidence is only circumstantial, there's no proof and Sinwar took this secret to his grave, but I believe that the real person behind October 7th, the chief instigator, is Netanyahu himself, the biggest traitor since Judas Iscrayot, who hired Hamas as a weapon in Israel's civil war in order to preserve himself personally and stay in power. No wonder almost all Gazans want to genocide Israel - wouldn't you too in their place? They just don't understand the subtleties of Israel's internal strife. Dear Yuyutsu,
"No wonder almost all Gazans want to genocide Israel - wouldn't you too in their place?" No, not at all. I'd sooner feel empathy for the neo Nazis in Romper Stomper suffering retribution from those they tormented. Yes, it is a tragedy, but one entirely self inflicted. We are all human beings. Hatred is our enemy, not people. Posted by Fester, Wednesday, 27 August 2025 7:45:00 PM

Dear Fester,
You are absolutely right: Hatred is our enemy, not people. "Every vicious thought will rebound, every thought of hatred which you have thought, in a cave even, is stored up, and will one day come back to you with tremendous power in the form of some misery here. If you project hatred and jealousy, they will rebound on you with compound interest. No power can avert them; when once you have put them in motion you will have to bear them. Remembering this will prevent you from doing wicked things." - Swami Vivekananda Metaphysically speaking, every tragedy is entirely self inflicted, whether or not we can see the links. No, it would not be appropriate to feel empathy with "neo Nazis in Romper Stomper", yet it is appropriate to feel compassion for them once they suffer the inevitable retribution. Compassion for the people, not empathy with their hatred. Posted by Yuyutsu, Wednesday, 27 August 2025 10:43:35 PM

And, since when was a country fighting for its very existence responsible for feeding its enemy: particularly one sworn to wipe it out!
You stupid buggers who believe such nonsense need your heads read.
With all conflicts except this one, the idea has been to drop bombs on the enemy, not food.
Blowhard academics and writers like this one, wouldn't give a toss about Palestinians if Israel wasn't involved. If they couldn't blame Israel, they would be silent.
Defending yourself, individually or en masse, is not a “crime”. The crime was committed by Hamas/Palestinians in October 2023.
That so few civilians have been killed or maimed compared with other wars is a credit to Israel. And, leave off the cowardly lecturing of Donald Trump, Mr. Ben-Meir: he is the only politician in the benighted West with a brain in his head, and the right ideas. Besides, Netanyahu is the one running Israel, and making a damn good job of it.
