"Wind and solar are incapable of making any of the products or transportation fuels demanded by the 8 billion on this planet."

Maybe, but instead they can make the imaginary product of "virtue", which is all that the intelligentsia of the Western world cares about.

Crookwell is the 'renewable energy powerhouse' of NSW. It will receive diesel generators after continuous blackouts. 50 wind turbines & more renewable energy sources than almost any other NSW town.

Just saw this on the Net !

This is a fairly rudimentary article about energy use.

It reads like an article found in a year 10 Study of Society text book.

The conclusion that " it is essential to have balanced discussions about products, electricity, and transportation fuels to enhance the understanding of energy systems with public and governmental policymakers" is nothing new. These discussions have been going on for decades.

Does anyone actually argue that we should "Get... rid of crude oil"?

Or is the discussion around to best use of crude oil and the benefits derived from its use while providing energy for the world's 8 billion people?
