The US faces a perilous crossroad : Comments

If Trump is allowed to continue fully executing his destructive socio-economic and political agenda, he will destroy what America stands for, and permanently extinguish its global leadership.

"It is essential to know that his socio-economic and political agendas are almost entirely based on Project 2025, initiated by the Heritage Foundation-a right-wing think tank rooted in conservative principles which aims to restructure the federal government to align with that agenda."
- About time someone pointed that out.

"He cut much of the US' foreign federal aid, including to individual countries, and dismantled USAID, which played a critical role in America's projection of soft power."
- He didn't cut all of it, National Endowment for Democracy still has a a significant number of projects for overthrows retained and moved away from prying eyes.

He already has.

The poor sad sub-human Android, brain washed by the Democrats automated production line of clones, thinks he’s educated…in the words of Christ, the last shall be first and the first shall be last…blistering evidence of that truth.

Theis Leftist cry-baby BS, is incredibly entertaining: Thanks Graham Young.
The best belly laugh I’ve had in a long time.
Laughter is the best medicine.

Given the sheer volume of damning material Trump has already provided in his second term, Ben’s emotive language isn’t even necessary.

Trump’s record speaks for itself.

In just months he has revoked DEI protections, stripped transgender rights, attempted to end birthright citizenship, resumed family separations at the border, and issued sweeping hiring and funding freezes that hit critical programs.

He’s criminalised homelessness, targeted journalists and nonprofits, and deployed the National Guard against peaceful student demonstrators.

On day one he re-withdrew from both the WHO and the Paris Climate Agreement, cut foreign aid, and dismantled cultural diplomacy - eroding America’s global standing while alienating allies through erratic tariffs and bullying diplomacy.

At home, he seized unprecedented budget powers from Congress, politicised intelligence by revoking clearances, and used federal funding as a weapon to silence dissent in universities and pressure them into teaching alternate facts.

These are not abstractions or exaggerations. They're policies intended to weaken rights, corrode institutions, and consolidate power in one man’s hands.

The facts alone are damning enough.

Trump is a disaster for the USA and the world in so many ways – his incompetence, vanity, destructive trade policies and inept meddling in Ukraine and Gaza stand out from an overseas perspective; the abuse of executive orders detailed in this article should disturb Americans across the political spectrum.

I hope his abuses of the law are stopped by the courts sooner rather than later. For example, it is congress not the president that has the legal power to set tariffs. The Court of International Trade has ruled that the emergency law Trump used to unilaterally raise tariffs is invalid. The tariffs remain in place while that decision is appealed. When that appeal fails – which it surely must – then Trump will be utterly humiliated and his destructive trade policies will halt in their tracks. The same, I hope, will happen to his other illegal executive orders.

But if the legal courts fail, the court of public opinion may not. Trump’s popularity at home has plummeted and Republicans are nervous about the mid-term elections. If the Republicans lose control of congress then Trump’s excesses can be reined in.

his incompetence,
Rhian,
If you care to really assess the situation you'd find that Trump is simply going against the leftist parasite establishment and, with some good results I might add. Just because the parasitic integrity-devoid Left is staring at some curbing of its excesses does not make Trump incompetent, on the contrary.
Same as in all "Democracies" (Dictatorships really) the people capable;e of thinking & with foresight are adopting his policies. Why ? Because the make a positive difference along the way. Leftists simply can't stand it when others do the things they themselves failed in so miserably !
The Western Conservatives are standing up against the Eastern Ultra Conservatives because this is what the circus is all about. Democracies are failing & falling like dominos or can't you see that yet ? Ah well, give it a little more time !
