Israel at the crossroads: occupation, genocide, and the death of a vision : Comments

By Alon Ben-Meir, published 27/5/2025

The country that rose from the ashes of millions of Jews who perished in the Holocaust will not survive on the ashes of the Palestinians.

Dear Critic,

«At this point, if Iran had a nuke and dropped it on Israel they'd be doing the planet a favour.»

At least half the population of Israel, my family included, are innocent hostages to the evil Israeli government (let alone Gazan and West-Bank prisoners in Israeli jails), just like about half the Gazans are innocent hostages of Hamas (let alone the Israeli hostages in Gaza).

Now you advocate murdering at least 5 million innocent souls, whereas the total population of Gaza is only 2.1 million - are you any better than the Israeli government?

Why not also nuke Myanmar to kill the ruling military Junta there?

Oh, and not just Israelis will be killed by your suggested course of action, also ill and elderly Australians who would then fail to receive their medications, made in Israel!

I'm just saying I'm sick and tired of this festering scab on the planet and the decades of death and destruction, which will never end anyway.

Poll: Overwhelming majority of Jewish Israelis back expulsion of Palestinians from Gaza
http://www.newarab.com/news/poll-huge-majority-israelis-back-gaza-ethnic-cleansing

"An overwhelming majority of Jewish Israelis support the ethnic cleansing of Gaza, aligning with the extremist Netanyahu government that has vowed to drive the Palestinians from their land.

An online poll of more than 1,000 people found that 82% back the forced deportation of Gaza's 2.2 million residents.

The survey was conducted in the first week of March by Israeli polling firm Geocartography on behalf of Penn State University.

The poll also indicated high levels of hostility towards Arab Israelis, with more than half (56%) of respondents voicing support for the deportation of the 2 million Arabs who hold Israeli citizenship.

Even more alarmingly, a significant number of people expressed support for committing genocide against the Palestinians, with almost half of those surveyed agreeing that the Israeli military should reenact the story of the Israelites' capture of Jericho."

Even an Ex-Israeli PM says Israel is committing war crimes.

Israel is just a warmongering nation full of hate filled people, that support inflicting murder and starvation on the Palestinians largely without conscience, and the polls prove it.

And who said I supported killing anyone.
I'd give you all 7 days to run or paddle for your lives.
Run to the neighbours that you've been murdering for decades or build a raft and paddle away, or swim with the sharks or stay and be nuked.

I'd just as soon as see the whole place turned into toxic wasteland of molten glass, than more decades and centuries of death, for no purpose.

Dear Critic,

I am yet to find the original survey regarding that "82%" - pity all references in NEWARAB point back to NEWARAB and I wonder whether it is deliberate. Anyway, I intend to look for the original data when I get the time, or if you could point me to it.

It would make sense and I could easily believe that 82% of the Israelis favoured VOLUNTARY migration, not "expulsion". Is it wrong to offer people a new home, should they wish, rather than remaining in tents and open sewers in the most ruined, impoverished and populated area in the world?

"almost half of those surveyed agreeing that the Israeli military should reenact the story of the Israelites' capture of Jericho."

Yes, I can believe that - but "almost half" is less than a half: why look only at the empty half of a glass?
- This is why Israel was on the verge of splitting until the 6th of October 2023, divorcing into two separate countries with very different ideologies. Pity Hamas violently aborted that process.

«Israel is just a warmongering nation»

Israel has not been one "nation" for many years now.
Yes, almost half of the people there are warmongering, but the others have nothing to do with that "nation" of theirs and want to split up.

Hi Yuyutsu,
Thanks for the info.

When Israel acts shamefully, we Jews must be willing to be ashamed of it
