Another green dream bites the dust : Comments

By John Mikkelsen, published 7/2/2025

When Queen front man Freddie Mercury belted out the chorus to Another One Bites the Dust back in 1980, he would never have imagined those lyrics could have been a wake up call for today's green dream believers.

“I'm a bit stunned by the speed at which the green dominoes are falling ….”.

But the politicians are not stunned; they just keep ignoring the bleeding obvious: the lunatic Bowen mainly, but all politicians, including Mr. Nuclear, whose party started all the Net Zero/carbon dioxide nonsense. The few politicians with any realistic attitude to the scams, nobody wants to vote for.

In my state of South Australia, where the political class is so proud to be number one in in renewable suicide - although we have to get power from Victoria every night - the ex-taxi driver now energy minister - has had to plead for permission to ready two diesel generators (yes such things still exist: one in quaintly-named Snuggery, and one in Port Lincoln) because he is having the trots about wind and solar over Summer.

Permission to hover over the diesel plants in case the connection from Victoria falls over as it has done in the past, has been granted temporarily until the end of March.

It seems that nothing, not even the looming election will wake up the ‘stunned mullets’ who are ruining Australia and getting paid for it.

Leading stunned mullet Bowen tells us to 'look around at all the electric cars'. The mainstream media continues lying about "increases" in EV sales.

The truth is that EVs make up only 4.4% of the market, and people who say they would consider buying one has fallen from 75% to 60%.

First up, Politicians are definitely not free thinkers as Donald Trump is for example, they are a managerial class. They are Mommy’s boys trained to follow orders. Awful and obsequious!

If you vote, you follow those types, don’t vote, give up the habit, rescue your self respect!

The Government fooling scientists presented a picture of a clean green future & the silly bureaudroids fell for it & the opportunistic corrupt bureaucrats exploited it to the fullest ! When they got the idea that dumbing-down the masses by handing out Uni Degrees their support base was guaranteed for decades. Fortunately, the fractures are appearing now & the parasites are starting to tremble !

The government and public servants almost universally have no technical
understanding and just cannot have a "feel" for what is proposed to them.
Everything just exists on paper planning.
Interestingly uni graduates are usually pretty dumb on the shop floor.
I read that the solar panel installs are well under 22,000 a day.
As I said here when I first heard of it that no one in bureaucracy
just reached for a hand calculator and worked out what it really meant
on a daily basis. I recconed 44 semitrailers a day between the coast and the bush 365 days a year !
That is what I meant by "feel" for the job.

It is for reasons like that is why Bowen's renewables are a nightmare.

Don't vote? Can anyone tell me what would happen if everyone didn't vote?

Nothing much will change for politicians, whereas for individuals, Democracy is enhanced by freedom of choice, which to some is an equivalence to freedom of speech.

If everyone was like you, Dan, there would be no democracy or the freedom you talk about.

Don't vote ... for Labor or the Greens or the Teals who are just better funded Greens! Things are bad now but it Labor is re=elected on the back of these idiots, pity help us all. The Libs aren't perfect but they have a more realistic approach to energy and the economy which is what we need now.

To vote or not to vote?
That is a matter of personal style - it makes no difference.

Well the following was obviously coined before the rise of the internet, when voting ads were physically stuck on walls:

Q. What is the difference between pre-elections and post-elections?
A. Before elections the walls talk to you - afterwards you talk to the walls!

Dear Indyvidual,

«Give us an example how you think society can function without some form of Government, even incompetent ones ?»

Once I am allowed to freely choose what (if any) society(s) I wish to belong to, then I am likely to be concerned about whether and how they can function. Until then, that is none of my business.

And just in case you (or someone else) suggest so - no, having to park my body somewhere on the face of this planet does not on its own constitute my free agreement to belong to any given society.

I take that as an “off the cuff” remark.

There are 340M Americans who are not obliged to vote. This is not a new idea.

Forced voting is an insult to intelligence, an affront to my moral values as a Christian, where I’m forced to engage with criminals given unprecedented power over my life and its natural freedom to choose my personal morality, with secular ideologies inclusive of debauchery but not limited to; racism against my cultural preferences as a white Caucasian, on show with DEI mandates working through Multiculturalism to weaken my cultural identity as such.

I have my feet on the ground in a Country I no longer recognise, stolen from me by Politicians on a continuous mission of cultural destruction; them I will not support in any way shape or form, and I urge other Australians of cultural purity to resist the urge to support this dictatorship offered to us and dressed up to act the role of Democracy.

Don’t vote! A $55 fine is a small price to pay for self respect and dignity!

I do not believe in compulsory voting. Nobody should be forced to vote. But, if you can vote, you should, even if you have to pick the least worse, as I do. Politicians are all bad, but we must use any opportunity we get to control them.

Then you remain an inveterate believer in the Quasi-Democracy experiment.

In reality, it remains for each of us individually to recognise and admit to the con-job we are being subjected to, stop supporting the rip-off, and shut down the dodgy used car yard that kills us with bad product!

Enjoy the exhilaration of freedom others miss out on by socially conforming, don’t vote; try it, it’s almost free!

90% of eligible voters did vote in the 2022 federal election. Non voters are a smaller minority than even the Greens voters.

Sorry to be the one to point this out, but voting is mandatory. 90% of the population are complying to a law which mandates they must vote or pay a penalty; that’s all it proves.
90% compliance is not a reliable figure to judge the intentions of people given a legal choice to opt out. It means nothing.

Voting should not be mandatory, its an infringement on civil liberties.

Back on topic: Another one bites the dust in Whyalla - looks like Trump's tariffs if imposed won't have much effect on these industries which are dropping like flies on a dead kangaroo. Check out Chris Kenny last night:

Indyvidual .

Keep supporting the vandals in suits with your vote mate. You be a good little boy now.
Goodbye Queensland bush lands. You’ll get what you ask for, as evidenced by your posted Utube.

Even the prehistoric natives on Boganville fought a life and death struggle against similar vandalism on their island. Kudos to them; terrorists all apparently!

Australia, through Multiculturalism, has lost all sense of true worth and appreciation for what we once were!
If we are incapable of resisting the Devils in suits responsible for the environmental destruction shown on your video, we deserve to join the Gazans thrown out of their birthright, unwanted and despised as punishment.

Your vote encourages this wanton destruction. Suffer you fools!

diver dan,
You should have noticed that that video was made two years ago. Let's hope the new Government will work towards sorting out this inexcusable vandalism !
Paul1405 might know more about it seeing he's a alternative energy disciple ! He might be able to tell us how these outfits got the go ahead & money to do this !

I agree voting should not be compulsory when some of those lining up probably couldn't tell you the name of the PM or opposition leader - BUT you can bet that the woke nutters and green dream climate believers such as Extinction Rebellion as well as unions like the CFMEU, the toxic Greens and Teals will be out in force while many who are less ardent Coalition supporters would probably rather go fishing. A better outcome would be first past the post polls such as in the US and eliminate preferential voting which gives us some of the useless senators and MPs we have now. Oh, and make proper ID checks compulsory to stop the old Labor mantra, "vote early, vote often!"

Reality check, please! Tariffs are the least of our worries, just an extra one - if they eventuate.
