Voters spoilt for choice: Peter Albanese or Anthony Dutton : Comments

By Stephen Saunders, published 15/1/2025

Regardless of the 2025 election, voters get duopoly dinner: environmental and energy sellout, regressive education, unfair taxation, mega migration, housing hunger games.

<< The Greens are fully on the record, that any immigration tally below 300,000, is a "migrant bashing race to the bottom. >>

Perhaps you could provide a source for that claim.

The Greens are not against immigration and they especially favour maintaining a decent humanitarian intake, as made clear in their policy statement ... https://greens.org.au/policies/immigration-and-refugees. More than any other party, they do however understand Australia's environmental limits and do not, like Rudd and others, advocate a 'Big Australia'.

I have never read anywhere that they recommend an annual migration target of at least 300 000. But maybe you have.

When has someone ever said anything good about people better than themselves ?
Too many are bad-mouthing Dutton because he's the one who can upset their cushy status quo of a cushy number with cushy conditions & cushy Superannuation all for nothing in return !
If he can introduce merit based work ethics than all will be good.

I read the article, and bethought myself? that many words were used to say relatively little.
I would like to see more compact and carefully worded efforts.
What do newspaper men say about writing articles?
Write the bare minimum, then cut that in half?
Something like that.
Others have commented adequately on the article.
My only comment is that the more I see of Peter, the more sure I am that he is not smart enough to lead this country.
He has determination, but little else.

I must add one more comment.
The mixing up of the two names in the title was intentional?
A clever ploy?
