Will national identity become obsolete? : Comments

Like many other Western countries, it is divided over many issues, including Aboriginal rights, immigration, economic hardship, climate change, and racial reconciliation.

That could be the idea, in Australia at least.

Australian politicians use mass immigration and multiculturalism to change the culture, allowing them to get away with what they want to do. The more diverse the culture, the less unity, fewer people standing together against government agendas. Australian values are watered down.

Australia is not “a nation haunted by its colonial past”; Australia's past is misconstrued and lied about by very nasty and unhinged people who hate Australia and the West in general. And, Australia is not “divided” just because different people have different opinions.

I am sick and tired of Australia and Australians being analysed by people with nothing better to do. Yes, we have problems and problem people - in Canberra. Replacing them in the coming election should be our goal. See to it.

Look at the question this way; what is an Australian Aboriginal?
Currently (as opposed to the US mandatory testing of dna for proof), anybody with an inclination may be identified as Aboriginal: That laissez-faire attitude by Authority explains the whole bag. Australians as individuals have long gone from the starting block.

Asabiyya? Immigration was already 3x too high, and Albanese has doubled it again. Trying relating to that issue, Mamtimin.

Where do you get all this BS about Australians living with guilt and shame. You need to get out into the country where all the real Australians live.

Nationalism is not an identity - it is a disease and I am glad to hear that it is on a decline.

Well of course I hope it is gone forever and not replaced by some other disease like a world-government: we need neither!
