In a world that often feels adrift, we all need something to believe.

Maybe McCarthy was more correct than he is given credit for. Compared to the dens of iniquity loosely termed Universities, producing powerless whims dominated by Marxist destructive thinking and end product terrorism screaming for the enemies of the West, it would be comforting to believe that Education was actually socially useful, and not producing brainwashed morons!

This I believe –

I believe that a blanket of fear has descended upon many of us. This fear takes many, many forms. For example, in the USA, fear has gripped so many who believe the only way for them to remain safe is to arm themselves to the teeth with guns, citing some 18th century decree as justification. Many are fearful of change itself, forgetting the Buddhist teaching that absolutely nothing is permanent in this world. The industrial revolution in the 18th and 19th centuries was exactly that – a revolution that changed the world. Old money vanished and new money took its place. But the world went on. A fact that climate change deniers who scream the world will end if we change our behaviour should be aware of today. Many are fearful that acknowledging and granting equal rights to others not like them will result in them being obliterated, either physically or culturally. The ‘No’ vote here in Australia was a nation wide example of so many being fearful that they might loose their status, or others might be granted more than them.

As the old adage goes – the only thing we have to fear is fear itself.

Aries54,
Even more fearsome is the ignorance due to lack of common sense among the educated !
After all, they're the ones managing/mismanaging everything in Govt !

Just as I said individual ... fear comes in many forms. The question is: Why or what makes you so fearful of this issue?

Aries54,
I fear that the parasitic Elite has only been dented rather than eliminated & will continue its heinous assaults on the decent !

Aries54,
Yes it was one of those rare outcomes of common sense coming out on top. Any movement with so much lack of integrity & such a massive reliance on untruth is a recipe for anarchy !
