Will Kamala Harris win? : Comments

By Peter Bowden, published 21/8/2024

According to a survey for the Financial Times, 42 percent of voters trust Harris more than Trump to handle the economy, a seven-point increase on Joe Biden's number last month.

>>Trump has been repeatedly accused of spreading false and misleading claims.

The Washington Post fact checker posted recently "There's a recurring pattern to Trump's spreading of false information. First, he repeats a false claim endlessly, no matter how often it is debunked. Then, he elevates it every so often with a dusting of new information, usually a falsehood derived from a modicum of fact."<<

Yes he lies all the time but mostly gets away with it.
Joe Biden and Kamela tell just as many but don't get the same publicity.

The media have to try to sway your opinion by beating you over the head with something.

'You can't vote for him, he's a liar and a mysoginist.'
'You have to vote for Kamela - because she's an multi-ethnic woman'
If you don't vote for Kamela you must hate women or be racist.

The arguments are never centred around competence.

Trumps lies are like this:
Imagine you're a 19yo bloke and your girl says she loves you, you like her but don't really love her because you're not really ready to settle down, you just want to have fun.

Well imagine your girl says "I know you don't love me, but can you say it anyway, even if it's a lie, I want to hear you say it."

These are the polarised supporters on both sides.
They both want to be told what they want to hear, even if it's all bs.
And both sides are willing to spoon feed them that crap - but Trumps lies get all the publicity.

Go back to the Trump presidency.
If Trump gaffed, we'd hear about it for weeks and hear how he was unfit for office.
Biden couldn't complete full sentences without a gaffe, rambling incoherently, which no-one could make any sense what the hell he was saying.
We always heard Biden is fit for office, even though he's a braindead zombie that would often make up stories about his dead son and then trail off about eating choclate chip ice cream cones.

Newsflash... They're ALL liars.

No-one seems to even think about what will happen if the Democrats lose ? It'd make the previous riots look like a Saturday arvo chook raffle.
Remember that it wasn't Trump who started those riots, he just got the blame for them.
Those riots have been in the making ever since the Million Men march & 9/11. The next riots have already been planned & they have nothing to do with Trump.

It would appear that the momentum in the American Presidential bun fight has shifted away from the Dangerous Doctor Donald and towards 'Hot Lips' Harris. Oh well, bad luck for you Palestinians and Ukrainians you are still going to die from American bombs falling from the sky, well so it seems, not that much would change with Donald. p/s Is there a third candidate? I believe so.

" Is there a third candidate? I believe so."

While Trump is taking home rural voters, at 63 percent, Harris leads among both urban-resident (58 percent) and suburban voters (56 percent)according to the latest surveys.
And as for the comment above that this election is not important for Australians, I disagree .The US is the most powerful militarily and richest country in the world. Such fundamentally different leaders are more important to our well being than even our own leaders.
