Better late than never.

---

Just a couple of corrections:

1) Jerusalem has always been the capital of Israel, long before its 1967 occupation of Eastern Jerusalem.
I cannot see why the author takes issue with this.

2) There are no "Palestinians", nor are the occupied territories "Palestinian".
In 1967, Israel took the West Bank [of the Jordan river] and Eastern Jerusalem from Jordan, and the Gaza strip from Egypt,
hence the local population can best be described as Arab.
Yes, these local Arabs are treated shamefully badly.
Yes, Israel must leave these areas.
Yet that does not turn the population into something they are not.

Conventional wisdom actually applies to Israel claiming sovereignty over West Bank-on the grounds the area was illegally occupied by Jordan between ‘48 and 1967 following Jordans defeat and on the grounds of continuous settlement by Jews over four thousand years..

There is now zero chance of Israel seceding these lands to the Palestinians a fate decided by the brutal attacks on Israel Oct 7th that is no chance.

Dear Dan,

«and on the grounds of continuous settlement by Jews over four thousand years..»

Alright, so you admit the Bible wrong, that they did not spend 430 years in Egypt and another 40 in the desert...

Yes, ANCESTORS of Jews likely lived in Israel for 4,000 years - why only 4,000? more likely 40,000! but anyway, they were not yet Jewish.

According to archaeology, the Biblical Jewish god was not worshipped until the 7th century B.C. and Judaism as we know it today, probably started only around 800 A.D.

So OK, before that they were not Jewish by faith, but perhaps they were Jewish by blood, by genetics? by having a Jewish mother?

Fair enough, but in that case the continuity of Jewish presence in Israel was achieved through those other idiots, those Jewish farmers who remained on their land and later converted to Islam and then for the last 50 years started calling themselves "Palestinians".

Then the other Jews returned from exile and are trying to evict the original Jews who never left.

Sounds like an internal Jewish affair to me...

«There is now zero chance of Israel seceding these lands to the Palestinians»

Indeed no chance, simply because there ARE NO Palestinians.

But how about the Jews of Israel seceding these lands to the Jews of the West Bank?
Surely with 20-30 Arab countries, Jews too should be allowed to have more than one state!

Countries that have nuclear weapons, like Israel, don't need to bother about the ICJ.

Dear Maverick,

Interesting, so what should Israel do - nuke the West-Bank settlers, or nuke the UN-led international forces that come to help it rid of them?

Either way, the West-Bank is just next to Israel, so radioactivity would make Israel as livable as Chernobyl.

Sadly, Israel is unable to comply and remove the Messiah-intoxicated Jewish settlers by itself, who are just too fierce and willing to do anything for their Messiah: if the IDF attempts to remove the settlers, that Jewish Hamas, then a significant portion of the soldiers would defect and then the settlers would kill the children of the others, as they have already threatened in the past to do if the army dares to try and evict them.
