Israeli Minister Benny Gantz was the Israeli War
Cabinet Minister and he's resigned. His decision to
leave Netanyahu's government has been expected for
some time.

In a televised address Mr Gantz said Mr Netanyahu was
"preventing us from advancing toward true victory."

Last month Gantz presented Netanyahu with a June 8th
deadline to come up with a clear strategy for post-war
Gaza. Netanyahu did not do so.

Now Netanyahu will have to rely more heavily on the
backing of extremists and his ultra-nationalist colleagues
for support. The prospects for any ceasefire are limited.
