Netanyahu must abandon blind ideology and face reality : Comments

By Alon Ben-Meir, published 5/6/2024

Netanyahu remains elusive about the endgame in Gaza but time is closing in on him. He has a solemn obligation to tell his fellow citizens what will be the fate of Gaza.

To this author:

The Israeli ambit claim:

To the last Palestinian, they are driven by a self destructive madness to destroy the Jewish State, and every last Jew living.

This is the justification for the elimination of Palestinians entirely from Gaza, and for the extension of Israel to include Gaza, not as a seperate State, but an inclusion to the territory of Israel

It is difficult to comment on truthful and accurate statements.
I would have preferred more use of the word 'an' though.
Such as when the phrase 'now a historic' was used.
But overall, an illuminating article.

Netanyahu has no ideology - Messianic or otherwise.

He does not care about Israel or about any territories.
He and his family just enjoy the fine things of life, too much so it gets them in trouble.

Being also an habitual liar, after having deceived the leaders of all the other parties several times, nobody trusts him thus nobody is willing to join him in coalition, so the only "friends" he could still find are his bedfellows from Israel's Nazi party (they DO have an ideology, a very sinister one, of turning Israel into a Messianic theocracy) plus the Haredi parties who stay with him for cash only.

The Israeli hostages are tortured, raped and starved, most probably dead by now - but what does he care?
Close to 1,000 Israeli soldiers were killed, many more wounded - but why would he stop the war?
The whole north of Israel - the Galilee, is burning: Hezbollah rockets set on fire house after house, street after street - the residents all left these ghost towns and villages, most will never return to their homes, but why should he care?

All he cares is to get a ticket out of jail for his corruption and bribe charges, and to see that his family continues to enjoy a luxurious hedonist lifestyle - whether or not Israel can survive his onslaught is his last concern.

diver dan's post is an example of the kind of 'hate speech' that is now being considered by federal parliament. Why does Online Opinion publish this kind of ignorant and bigoted statement that so distorts readers' understanding of the complexity of the current tragic situation in the Middle East? Blowy

Dear Blowy,

I see that you are relatively new to this Online Opinion forum (shortly OLO):

This place does not "publish" anything - people post here themselves freely, just like you did yourself.

We are not subject to any parliament here - only to our Sovereign, the founder of this forum, His Majesty King Graham Young and we follow only the rules of this forum as set forth by Him - http://www.onlineopinion.com.au/display.asp?page=legal

If you believe that anyone here broke the rules of this forum, then you can complain on their post using the red X symbol, then His Majesty may or may not remove that post at His pleasure.

Have a nice day!

I really want to wind back this course of spastic thinking.
It's bad enough in the rest of the world, but here [rolls eyes]

'Hate speech'? It might be ignorant and bigoted but that's what you get from the right on Israel...

'Making claims of hate speech to justify cancelling opinions'
- Maybe you and the eKaren should just make your own forum?
Then we can all just focus on what the pair of you have to say?

'Online Opinion publish'
No, these are READERS COMMENTS.
- Take the eKaren attitude elsewhere.

'ignorant and bigoted'
- There's no law against ignorant and bigoted.
Get over yourself.

You can either write a non-ignorant or non-bigoted response refuting his arguments on merit, or you can take your 'Hate speech' and 'Cancel instead of Counter-Argument Culture' and shove it.

If you wish to cancel comments and opinions you don't like, then none of us will ever get the full story.

I don't support Dans position on Israel, I support the Palestinians right to their own state and freedom from oppression - but I will fight tooth and nail, that he is allowed to have his bs 'ignorant and bigoted' comments, whether people like yourself like it or not.

If Israeli is to be a Democracy where life within its boundaries is possible, then further than kicking out the Palestinians from Gaza, sending them to a better life among those that their subhuman toxic view of a world, match the ethics of Genghis Khan and the murderous Mongols, which the Arabs find difficult to abandon, the next on the list of desperados are Lebanese of Southern Lebanon.

It does not matter what agreement is finally made, Hamas will come
back again with another name and start it all again.
It is in the religion, kill the Jews and force the rest of the world
to submit to Islam. Read the Koran.
It has been a very successful policy for 1400 years so why should
they abandon it now ?

Watch Germany; they have already started demanding a Caliphate and
Sharia Law.
They will get elements of it and then start mission creep

What Netanyahu must do, and what he will continue to
do - are two different things.

The Netanyahu extremist government has not, and
will not give up their occupation and control.
Nor are they willing to compromise. Everything
must be on their terms only. And, under these
circumstances, unless the US ends its financial
and military support, this war will continue.

A two state solution is not possible under these
circumstances unless the US steps in and forces
Netanyahu's hand. Hamas is willing to negotiate
if Israel ends its occupation of Gaza and its
bombardment.

Under Netanyahu and his government this does not
look likely to happen any time soon.

Bezza,

Give your Islamophobia a rest just once.

Beating the same drum is wearing a bit thin.

Not all Palestinians or Muslims support Hamas. Just as
not all Israelis or Jews support the actions of Netanyahu
and the Israeli government.

It's not right to lump everyone as one homogenous group
on either side of this conflict.

Well yes Foxy, you are right not all moslems support Hamas and other
terrorist organisations.
In fact some Arab governments want nothing to do with the
Palestinians. They consider them trouble makers and an obstruction
to business with the rest of the world.
Saudi Arabia is the major one in that group.
The question it does raise is when push comes to shove ?

I see it reported that most major cities in the UK have moslem mayors.
Hmmm.
ps I didn't bother listing them so I cannot quote my source.

Parliament (MP) for Tooting from 2005.
