Censorship wars: Elon Musk, safety commissioners and violent content : Comments
By Binoy Kampmark, published 24/4/2024While there is much to take Elon Musk to task for, the hysteria regarding the refusal to remove images of a man in holy orders being attacked by his assailant suggests a lengthy couch session is in order.

Well since they wish to censor us I better do my duty and post some #eKaren and #Albomemes

Interesting thing here, the swastika isn't being used to frighten or denigrate Jews, it's to mock authority, to demonstrate government overreach and a totalitarian position against it's citizens. Should it be considered free speech if used in a non anti-Jew context?) http://twitter.com/PaulineHansonOz/status/1783601925252100404 http://twitter.com/MRobertsQLD/status/1781178048173285708 http://twitter.com/aussiecossack/status/1782458188706861455 (contains swearing) Posted by Armchair Critic, Friday, 26 April 2024 9:47:24 AM

Yuyutsu, I do not think that just anyone can make their own cipher
system, unless some complex mathematical process is applied it would be easy to crack. Look at the early days of it at Bletchly Park during the war. They had to invent the computer to solve the German High Command code. I am sure there are systems that the e-safety people etc will find virtually unbreakable inside their working lifetime. Oh well, I guess they will bring in a regulation that only a particular program can be used to encypher so that everyone else cannot open it ! Posted by Bezza, Friday, 26 April 2024 4:45:32 PM

Dear Bezza,
«I do not think that just anyone can make their own cipher system, unless some complex mathematical process is applied it would be easy to crack.» Well of course you need to know a bit of computer programming. I made my own to a level sufficient to satisfy my humble personal needs. If I wanted more I could do that too, and I can assure you that the mathematics there are pretty basic. I am not saying that it is unbreakable, but its main advantage over common public algorithms is that it is private and only used to encrypt my own and my family's files, so if someone wanted to crack my cipher electronically, they would probably need to invest around 100 million dollars for which they would gain no other benefit - much cheaper for them to catch and torture me in person. «Oh well, I guess they will bring in a regulation that only a particular program can be used to encypher so that everyone else cannot open it !» Should it come to that, the solution would be to plant the sensitive information inside ordinary files that otherwise look like images, movies, sound-tracks, weather-data, etc. etc. Nobody is likely to even suspect that they also contain extra cryptic information. For extra safety, you could even place the information inside porn clips, preferably illegal porn, so if caught, the authorities will come to believe that what you are hiding ends there... Hmmm. yes I can see what you are getting at.
However, I think if the professional crackers with everything they have at hand might take a day or two to crack it. perhaps even a week. The idea of hiding it in other files photos etc are pretty well known. Still someone will make a very hard to crack process and sell it either publicly or on the dark web. Probably it has already been done. The government will ban any other than the approved program. So anything going through would be diverted. A snoopers paradise ! The only way to do it is the way a guy in one of the gulf states got info out a few years back during the last Middle East turmoil. I heard it going on but could only read some of the text. It wasn't on the internet. It was on HF radio. I could tell it was going to Europe but I heard later it was going to a news agency. Who knows, all rumours ? BTW, your uncle knows that "you know who", runs a UHF network. Posted by Bezza, Friday, 26 April 2024 10:51:33 PM

Yes, the Australian government is trying to silence Australians who tell the truth, that violence has occurred on their watch and they were unable to prevent it.
They pretend to be our protectors and they want the naive majority to continue believing them - they cannot afford to have that lie broken and for the masses to realise that they are unable to protect anyone: everyone must get whatever they deserve, good or bad, according to their previous actions - no human (in fact not even angels or gods) can change that basic law of nature.
